Inside My Church Cut & Glue Sheet
In this activity, children will cut out the pictures on the right side of the sheet and glue them inside the picture of the church. This is a great opportunity to discuss what children have seen inside their church. Pictures include: cross, choir, children, Bible, piano, and pastor. There is also a Catholic Church version, which includes these pictures: Bible, cross, communion, priest, rosary, and children.

Church Picture Word Cards
This set of Church Picture-Word Cards can be used in a variety of ways. They are a great way to introduce children to things and people they might see at church and can help them learn vocabulary.
Words included are: church, cross, Bible, window, pew, flowers, family, communion, piano, guitar, choir, pray, tithe, candle, pastor. The last 5 cards are for Catholic programs: priest, pope, nun, confession, rosary. If you do not need these cards, I recommend setting your printer to print the first 4 pages, but not page 5.
Here are some fun ways to use the cards in your classroom:
- Vocabulary and Discussion: Introduce the cards during circle time. Talk about each picture and invite children to share what they have seen at church.
- Church Scavenger Hunt: Take the cards on a walk through your church and have children look for the objects pictured.
- Memory Game: Print two sets of cards and have children find matching pairs.
- Church, Home, or Both: Sort the cards into groups of things we see at church and things you might see at both home and church.
- What Is Missing? Display several cards, remove one while children close their eyes, and have them guess which card is missing.
- Early Literacy: Practice beginning sounds, clap syllables, or match pictures to printed words.
- Draw Your Church: Encourage children to draw pictures of their church and include some of the objects shown on the cards.
