Rhyming Cards
These are rhyming card pairs that can be used for matching. I made them this size so they can be glued to die cut shapes, or even the decorative cut-outs like Trend and Carson Dellosa make. You could also print them on cardstock and use them like they are. If you need a larger or smaller size, use the reduce/enlarge button on a copying machine.
Rhyming Match Games
Children match rhyming cards to the pictures on the mat.
Rhyming Dice
To make the dice: Cover a small square cardboard box with wrapping paper or bulletin board paper. I use "Priority Mail Box O-BOX4" which you can get
from the USPS for free (at the site, click "For Mailing/Shipping", then click "Priority Mail").
Print out the rhyming dice printables, cut them out, and glue them onto the sides of the box.
To play: Children take turns rolling the die. When the die stops rolling, the child will look at the picture on top, and say a word that rhymes.
Write the Room
Children ask a teacher to fill in the blank with their dictation: "Do you like _____?" Some children ask for the word to be spelled while they write the letters. They go around the room asking other children their question, and writing the names in the yes/no boxes. If they don't know how to write a name, they copy it from a name tag or ask the child to write it.

Giant Dice
To make the dice: Cover a small square cardboard box with wrapping paper or bulletin board paper. I use "Priority Mail Box O-BOX4" which you can get from the USPS for free (at the site, click "For Mailing/Shipping", then click "Priority Mail"). Print out the dice printables, cut them out, and glue them onto the sides of the box.
Dot Cards for Counting
These can be used for counting or comparing more, less, and same. They can be used with any colored manipulatives-- children place the manipulatives (for example, bear counters) on the colored dots.
Color Pattern Cards
These pattern cards can be used with any math counters that are colored. For example, bear counters, dinosaur counters, farm animal counters, bug counters, etc. Each set has 10 pattern cards.
Color Pattern Cards - What's Missing?
This set of pattern cards have one missing. Children have to figure out which color in the pattern is missing. These pattern cards can be used with any math counters that are colored. For example, bear counters, dinosaur counters, farm animal counters, bug counters, etc. Each set has 10 pattern cards.
Pattern Grids
In each grid square, children glue a small paper cutout to make a pattern. Small paper cutouts are made from craft punchers available in most craft and hobby stores in lots of shapes (apples, stars, bears, butterflies, etc.). The grid sheets could also be used for making patterns with dot markers. See the Pattern Page for photos.
One to One correspondence
Children use rubber stamps to stamp one animal in each box to show one-to-one correspondence.
Science Printables
Field Trip Checklists
Children bring these along on a nature walk or field trip, and check off each item they find. Clip the page to a clipboard for each child.
Magnets
Children use a magnet wand to test a variety of objects to see if they are magnetic or non-magnetic. They classify the objects onto the spaces on the mat.
Giant Color Dice
To make the dice: Cover a small square cardboard box with wrapping paper or bulletin board paper. I use "Priority Mail Box O-BOX4" which you can get
from the USPS for free (at the site, click "For Mailing/Shipping", then click "Priority Mail").
Print out the dice printables, cut them out, and glue them onto the sides of the box.
To play: Children take turns rolling the die. When the die stops rolling, the child will look at the color on top, and find something in the room that is
the same color.
