Things from the Ocean

By Karen Cox | Affiliate Disclosure | Filed Under: Ocean Theme, Science Center Ideas

This science center display can be set up in spring or summer, especially during a study of ocean animals. This is a collection of seashells, coral, sea sponges, starfish, and a seahorse. I used black felt on the shelf to make the shells stand out.

Hi Karen! I just came across your website and it is wonderful! I was so excited when I realized I knew who you were. Also taught at your current school – about 4 years ago. I was one of the middle school teachers and there for only a year. Hope everyone is doing well! I love your website. This is what I will use this summer as I entertain my 4 year old! How did you get this site up and running? I would love to do something like it for my teaching areas while I wait to go back to work.

    Take care-

Hi from Sunny Sri Lanka, Karen! I have been running a Pre School for the last ten years and used a lot of interesting material off the web…but it was only this last vacation that I accidentally came across your amazing website…this is really great material, well thought out and planned, wide ranged, so many new and interesting angles…in fact just what I want to introduce at HeadStart. My sincere thanks and congratulations:). I shared this with my teachers as we planned for the new term and they are as excited and inspired as I am. Can’t wait to start on Monday and see how the kids absorb the changes and additions:). I usually don’t send back comments like this, but you…..I just have to say thanks and tell you what a great job you’ve done:)
