Swedish Fish End of Year Gift

Here’s an End of Year Treat Bag Topper gift for Swedish Fish or Fish Crackers.

End of Year Gift Treat Bag Topper Fish

I had a lot of Swedish Fish left over from our “candy fish swimming in blue jello” snack during our Ocean Unit, and came up with this idea to use them as an End of Year gift for the children. I put the Swedish Fish in a snack size zip lock bag, printed out the bag topper, folded it over, and stapled it to the top of the bag. This gift could also be made with Goldfish crackers.

To make these, feel free to use the printables I made below. Since my students are going to a new school next year, I made a printable that says “Congratulations! You’ll soon be swimming in a new school because you are O-FISH-ALLY a Kindergarten kid!”. Since some of you may not be sending your students to a new school, I also made one that only says “Congratulations! You are O-FISH-ALLY a Kindergarten kid!” Click the buttons below to download the printable you need.

Our paraprofessional and I bought sand buckets for every child, and she is painting their names on them with paint pens. We will put the Swedish Fish gift inside the buckets along with any other goodie bags or gifts the kids bring in for their friends.

This printable uses graphics licensed by Scrappin Doodles.

I have received several requests to make the topper using First Grade in place of Kindergarten, and I will put that on my to do list. Thanks for the suggestion!

What a cute idea! My kindergarten students would love this! Any chance you could make one that says ‘you are o-fish-ally a first grader’?

I printed these out last year and filled the bags with swedish fish. They were a huge hit with the kids and the parents thought they were adorable too! I can’t wait to see the reactions this year. Thanks so much for creating this adorable printable.

In the past we have given out school backpacks with some supplies which they will need for kindergarten in September. We also give a scrapbook of some of their art which we kept over the year. We have given out little certificates saying they have completed our program. I like your fish idea though. I might do this for this year along with the other stuff.

For end of year gifts I save bonus points from Scholastic and get books to give each student. Usually one we have read and enjoyed during the year.
