St. Patrick’s Treat Bag Toppers

By Karen Cox | Affiliate Disclosure | Filed Under: Gift Ideas, St. Patrick's Theme

Try these St. Patrick’s treat bag toppers for one of the easiest gifts for teachers to give their students or kids to give their classmates.

St Patrick's Day Treat Bag Toppers

Treat bag topper gifts are simple and quick. All you have to do is print the topper, cut, and attach to a zip bag of treats.

These are the treats I used in my bags…

Mint Green Candy Treat Bag

For this one, I used a bag of dark chocolate mint M&Ms. All of the candies in the bag are different hues of green. If you want to use less candy, add some pretzel sticks to the bag.

Rainbow Candy Treat Bag

For this one, I used rainbow colored Skittles.

Gold Coins Treat Bag

This is an idea I saw in a photo somewhere on Facebook, but had no link to give credit. I searched for the original source, but found numerous sites with these gold coin cookies. To make these gold coin cookies, you need regular Oreo cookies and gold food color spray (I used Wilton Gold Color Mist). Spray the Oreos with the gold food spray and they look just like gold coins!

Leprechaun Gold Treat Bags

When I first sprayed the cookies gold, they didn’t look exactly like I expected, but once they dry, they look more “gold”. To save money, I only sprayed one side of the cookies. The spray bottle is small and if you’re doing a lot for a whole class, you might need to do that as well.

Here are some other ideas for St. Patrick’s Day treat bags:

  • Rolos candy (had gold wrappers for leprechaun gold)
  • crayons (in rainbow colors)
  • Lucky Charms cereal
  • chocolate coins
  • cookies
  • brownies
  • crackers
  • stickers
  • pony bead bracelet
  • granola bar
  • colored pens

How to assemble:

To attach the bag topper to the bag, fold the paper on the line and either staple or tape them to the top of a snack size ziplock bag. You can also use sandwich size bags for something larger.
