Pet Classification Printable

Pet Sorting & Classification Printable

This is another activity I made for my class’s recent Pet Unit. This is a classification activity that uses small cat and dog figurines. I used the Safari Ltd Domestic Cats Toob and Dogs Toob. I put the cats and dogs in a basket, and placed it on a tray with the classification mat. Children pulled an animal from the basket, and decided which side of the mat to place the animal. While this may seem very simple to adults, the children took their time to notice the details of each animal and think before making their choice.

A lovely activity. I am thinking this would be great for when we look at animal habitats. I have been searching for a great activity for this. Thank you šŸ™‚

Cute! Instead of purchasing the small pet figurines, I plan to use either clipart pics or magazine cutouts for sorting.
