Here is a set of Parts of a Tree Word Cards that I have added to the Picture Word Cards collection. This set includes words such as trunk, bark, leaves, blossoms, and more!
Using the cards in the classroom:
These word cards can be placed in a pocket chart in my writing center, or they can be hooked together with binder rings or binding combs.
My students take the word cards out of the pocket chart and carry them to the table to copy on their paper, and slip them back into the pockets when they’re finished.
More ideas for using these cards:
- Use them on a word wall.
- Hook them together on a binder ring to make a picture dictionary.
- Use the blank set to write words in other languages or other writing styles (e.g. D’Nealian). Or use them for modeled writing activities.
- Spell the words with magnetic letters or letter tiles.
