During Easter time one year, when my students would listen to the Easter story of Jesus, they were very indignant about Jesus being given a crown of thorns. They referred to it as a “bad crown”, and this is a part of the story that really stuck with them.
This group of children always talked about wanting to give Jesus a “good crown”. That’s when I came up with the idea for this printable, and I made it for this specific group of children. Now, every group of children after them has loved to make a “good crown” for Jesus.
Young children have such a strong sense of justice, and this activity allows children to “give” Jesus the kind of crown they believe He deserves.
Print this page and have children draw a nice crown on Jesus’ head, or use collage materials to decorate a crown.
