Sometimes teachers and/or schools don’t have the funds to buy the classroom furniture they need or want. Compiling this list of furniture plans for the classroom was fun, and I’m drooling over them all. DIY furniture will cut costs to a fraction of what you would pay if you bought from an educational supply catalog.

Even if you don’t have the tools, equipment, or skill to build these yourself, you could always look for a volunteer parent or volunteer community member who might be willing to build something for you. Boy Scouts have at times made things for classrooms.
These are all outside links {most from Ana White’s awesome site}, so use your back button to come back here, or control-click to open the links in a new tab.

Hi, Elfinesh, this is a list of plans for building furniture.
Fantastic information. I love your Website it is always so helpful. I am in the process of opening a child care learning center. The information on the furniture is great. Thanks Karen
Best of luck with your center! I’m glad the links here will be helpful to you.

Thank you for sharing your list of furniture, but how can I get . ideas Made Baby crib’s
I am in the process of opening a child care learning center. I live in San Francisco
Check out Ana White’s site at anawhite.com and see if there’s anything there. With all the state regulations on baby cribs used in child care, it might be best to buy them.
How about a how-to on a classroom mailbox? The mailbox that has about 30 paper sized slots for giving back papers. That would be very helpful! Love the blog, thanks!
We need to make preschool/KG/1st grade tables…. we sourced some free ikea shelves, table tops parts, etc. I was thinking maybe pvc pipe for legs? Also need tall, stable room dividers.
Any sources for those?
Love your list, thanks so much!
