This is a science experiment about wind that we do during our weather unit. In this experiment, children blow on objects to simulate the wind.
Place a variety of objects on the science shelf, some that can be moved by blowing them as well as some that cannot be moved. Children predict which objects they can move, then experiment with each by placing them on a nearby table and blowing.
The objects I used were a wooden block, paper cup, metal spoon, piece of construction paper, craft pom pom, feather, and rock.
Hi! Older kids can even make a chart with the names of the objects written (kids can write the names too-teacher spells out the words orally, -now the kids have a spelling activity) , do the experiment with each item & chart or write a yes or no beside the word. If u want, kids can even diagram how many yeses & noes that were discovered & then discuss. (do a pie diagram for the yeses & noes).
