Religion Center

In the past, I have had a center dedicated to the religious materials that we have, but since then, I have integrated the religious materials in the other areas of classroom. For example, the Bible story puzzles are located with the other puzzles, the Bible story books are located with the other books.

Nativity Set

I put this out at advent and it stays the rest of the year. This set was a resin set of Christmas ornaments that I bought very inexpensively after Christmas.

Jesus "doll"

This came from Catholic Child. My kids have used this "doll" to build a bed, a cross, and a tomb for Jesus (see photos).

Letters

These are wooden letters from a craft store that I painted. Children use them to spell the name of Jesus.

Thanksgiving Treasures

This is a set from Family Life. You introduce the set by showing children each piece and telling them one very simple statement about each. Children can then retell the story themselves as the touch each piece.

Resurrection Eggs

This is another set from Family Life. I introduce them by opening one egg each day starting at the beginning of Lent. I tell the children what each piece represents in the Easter story. The children enjoy retelling the story themselves by opening each egg and telling their friends what it means. These can be purchased from a Christian store or Amazon.com, or you can find out how to make your own set here and here.
