Class Advent Wreath
This advent wreath was made with green felt. The felt sits on a piece of white foam core board so that we can move it when needed. The candles are GE battery powered tealights that switch on and off. I taped pink and purple construction paper around the candles for the advent wreath colors.
Advent Wreath
Children made an advent wreath with Model Magic and 4 birthday candles, and painted the wreath green after it was dry.
Advent Wreath Blessing:
This advent wreath, a circle of green
We place upon the table.
Each week a candle we shall light
For Jesus' birth in the stable.
Oh, bless this wreath, dear God, we pray,
As we await your Son
To fill our lives with light and hope.
In Him we shall be one.
Advent Calendar
I wrote this verse at the bottom of a piece of blue construction paper: "For a child has been born for us." (Isaiah 9:6). The children glued four craft sticks to make the outline of a stable. Inside the stable, they glued a white piece of paper, stamped nativity stamps on it, and colored them with colored pencils. (I bought a set of Tomie de Paola Nativity stamps at Kidstamps). They placed star stickers in the sky, according to the date: if we do this project on December 6th, we put 6 stars in the sky. The remaining star stickers are sent home to the parent with an explanation to stick a star on the advent calendar every day until Christmas Day.
