Garden Word Cards

I promised I would work on the much-requested picture-word cards this summer. The first set is garden related. I have a set of Garden Word Cards and a set of Color Word Cards with a Flower theme. When I did a little survey once, about half of you liked the large pocket chart size cards I had made (for the Winter Words set) and about half of you wanted smaller cards, so I made both sizes. I personally prefer the larger cards.

I have also made a set of blank cards so that people can write in the words themselves. These could be used to write in other languages or other writing styles (e.g. D’Nealian). They would also work for those teachers who want to use them as a modeled writing activity.

All of the picture-word cards have a home on the Picture-Word Cards webpage, and more will be added.

  4. I have been searching online for quality picture cards to use at home with my two preschool age sons, and finally I came across your blog! Yay, these are great! Thank you for sharing. These are exactly the graphics I have been looking for. The selection of size/blank etc. is a real bonus, for turning the cards into matcing games. I can’t wait to print and start using. I’m really foucusing on expanding my sons’ vocabulary this summer, and these will be a real help! I am excited to start following your blog, you’ve got great ideas and your page is really well organized and easy to navigate. Thank you!

  5. These are great! I print out 2 sets of the large cards – I hang one up and the other I cut apart. The kids have to match the picture to the card, and they use the wall chart for help. It’s been great to see how the children’s environmental print recognition has skyrocketed since starting this.
