I made these mats for a recent Pets Theme we did in my class. This is a counting practice activity. The children use a dry erase marker and eraser. They identify the numeral at the top and draw that amount of spots on the puppy. I printed these on cardstock and slipped them in clear page protectors, which worked really well with the dry erase markers. The page protectors could be hooked together with metal binder rings, and the children could flip through them to work on the next number. These could be laminated instead of using page protectors.

I just love this. Having a special needs boy that is having so much trouble with numbers, I think he will enjoy this activity! Thank you.
I will be changing the puppy to a “fire doggie” that’s white and the kids will make the spots to go along with fire prevention week this week!
Neat idea, Carol!
I really love this idea!
Could you add a blank dog to the set? I would love to be able to change the colour of the dog on my own or change the number around.
Thank you
Any ideas other than the markers for the spots? Would stickers work? What else could easily be put on and removed?
Not wanting my 3 year old to even KNOW about those markers!! LOL!
You could use bingo chips, or the new Crayola dry erase crayons.
I know this is late for Jenny, but washable markers can be used on lamination and wiped off with water/baby wipes/etc.
